Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC is an international human rights lawyer and expe=
rt in journalists=E2=80=99 safety and media freedom, practising as a barr=
ister from Doughty Street Chambers, London. Earlier this year, she won a =
landmark case jointly leading Nobel Laureate Maria Ressa's defence agains=
t spurious tax charges levelled at her news organisation, Rappler.

Caoilfhionn will speak about current threats to media freedom and how the=
 law can be used to combat them.

Steve Trent is CEO of the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF). Over hi=
s career, Steve has led investigations documenting the corrupt, brutal an=
d devastating practices that have damaged wildlife populations and natura=
l ecosystems across Asia, Africa and South America.

Steve will talk about some of EJF's recent projects, explain how a human =
rights lens can help tackle climate change, and discuss how pro bono lega=
l assistance can best aid organisations like his.
